This is a watercolor illustration showing the relationship between two flowers with human like mannerisms. To go along with it, I wrote a short story and created a layout as it would appear in a story book.

This is a depiction of two Vietnamese Soldiers ( One from North, the other from the South) embracing each other  because of the hardships of the war. It is about how brothers and families were torn because of the war.

Magazine Interview: Fernando Castro

This magazine spread is the intro to a six-page interview conducted with musician Fernando Castro. Completed in the Fall, its taken some time to post. The image was taken during a live night performance using a Pentax K1000, black and white film, and without the use of flash. The interview is sincere, insightful, and entertaining.

Movie Poster

This is the movie poster i came up with for our poster assignment. I tried to give it a vague title and i based the look of the alien off of an old movie poster i had found.

One-Flag Design

This is my One-Flag design. Rather than come up with a flag that represented the people of the world coming together I came up with a flag for when robots take over the world. Its a possibility so with this flag I might get on their good side.

This image was created to accompany an editorial supporting gay marriage, focusing on the recent passing of Proposition 8 in California. The recent ballot measure outlawed previously legal same-sex marriages in the state.

fiac!

This poster is for a French contemporary art fair held in Paris every year. The name comes from "Foire Internationale d'Art Contemporain" (fiac). I wanted to allude to Duchamp's urinal by using toilets as the background.

Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee

This image was inspired by the book, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. I wanted to capture the tragedgy of the American Indians and honor the victims of a culture that was lost to the greed and violence of my people.

Little Red Ninja Riding Hood

This is part of a series of illustration I'm working on, drawing western fairytales in Asian style.

This was my third investigation into illusion. Here I wanted to show the nature of the optical paradox. This was inspired by MC Escher, Shigeo Fukuda, Sandro del Prete, Jos De Mey, Rex Whistler, Octavio Ocampo, among many others from a book called "Master's of Deception."

This is my second study of art as an illusion. This work was inspired by artists such as Giuseppe Arcimboldo and Salvador Dali. I tried to merge animals and other objects into a human form. The person is underwater swimming. There are also many other 'things' happening in the drawing. Media used were colored pencil, india ink, and graphite.

This was my first investigation of art as an illusion. This piece is a progression series that tries to link two common ideas -- recycle for the good of the Earth/to save the Earth.

River

A River. One is made with mixed media, tempera paint, markers, spray paint, and magazine clippings; the other is a representation of the image in Illustrator using words.

Poster for the font Trajan Pro, designed as movie poster since it is one of the most over used fonts for movie posters and logos.

Newspaper layout highlighting architecture. The contrast between the text and the images is meant to be representative of a building and the sky behind.

Greening the Miami Waterfront

This is a satire on Miami-Dade's concept of reinvigorating and greening the waterfront - a school-wide study that architecture students were working on Fall 2007.

"Jail Break Skateboards"

Using the famous mario characters, I created a group sketch and turned them into two seperate skateboard design. The top one with color, and the bottom one using black and white.

"Freedom of Art"

This graffiti was inspired by the freedom posters at the Wolfsonian. I wanted to approach the concept with the negativity surrounding graffiti and try and break away from that mold with something vibrant.

"Street Warrior"

This is a graffiti I designed to use as a poster, street warrior concept directed around skateboarding.
