Piñata Gherkin

The first piece in a set of piñatas inspired by installation art and buildings of London.  This pickle is inspired by the Gherkin building and meant to represent the communication confusion as an American in the UK, where chips mean fries and the Gherkin means a huge building, not a pickled cucumber.

Animated Alphabet - ART 293

The idea behind this font is that a suburban mom would use it to print out decorations for her five-year-old's room. Also I like animated movies. I have seen 84 out of the 89 movies shown.

Guard the Galaxy - ART 293

Hand making a vector of the world was a spiritual experience. Also I love Guardians of the Galaxy.

Good Things: Artist Book - ART 293

Bought this book about demons and a priest for one dollar at GoodWill. Used sharpie to create blackout poetry. Cover is designed by cutting strips into the original cover and weaving it with strips of blue cardstock.

Wonderland Roses - Art 293

Two page spread above, full sized images below.

I Am - ART 293

About identity, self worth, defense mechanisms, and aesthetic. Which, if you think about it, aesthetic is like two steps away from identity.

Love Potion - ART 293

Hand calligraphy on a printed photo. Title comes from the name of the drink in the photo.

This was cheaper than therapy.

Mona Lisa Solid ITC Poster - ART 293

My favorite font because I love fake glamour and the 1930s. But just 1930s style, everything else about the 30s kind of sucked.

For this assignment, I just re-sized and re-colored a pattern I sketched and then scanned to make digital. Real trippy, I know.

Original Watercolors

In-Class Project 2: These were the original watercolor illustrations I painted for my children's book "Rain is my Mother, Clouds are my Laughter." As you can see, I merged these with photographs in Photoshop to create the final composite images.
